Denmark hockey league

I have been a player agent sincebut stopped my agent work in earlyso I have an extensive knowledge of the European hockey leagues. From time to time, you might as reader of my columns get a very detailed inside to some issues that are not commonly known, so I hope you will read my articles in the future. As an introduction to the Danish league, I felt it was necessary to look at the progression inside Danish hockey.

So I have divided my introduction into two parts, where the first part will focus on the success of the Danish national team and the second part will shed some light on the Danish league called AL-Bank Ligaen. Part 1: The Danish National Team Danish hockey has been in a rapid development over the past decade, culminating with a record high 8 th place in the WC, where big-brother country Sweden ended the Danish race to the top. Since then the Danish team have managed to either barely stay in the pool by avoiding relegation or play in the qualification to the quarterfinals.

Many have asked me what has made it possible and what is the biggest factor for this move from being a team outside the top level to now amongst the top teams in the world. If you ask me it is quite simple; I think the fact that we got some Swedish coaches, that showed great passion and desire to change the mentality. The year is also a very important year as Frans Nielsen was drafted in round 3, 87 th overall by New York Islanders. This was the beginning of a bunch of Danish talents being drafted in the NHL and even more junior players went on to play in the Swedish Junior systems and pro levels.

However the biggest draft results came in the year when Lars Eller was selected 13 th overall by the St. So what is the future looking like for the national team and can Denmark keep progressing? That is some of the big questions for the future. I believe that the Danish clubs have a huge responsibility in providing youth departments with funds, the talent must be nursed and developed.

However, as it looks right now and the next 5 to 10 years, I strongly believe Denmark has a strong enough youth and junior pool of players, to maintain a position in the WC pool. The biggest obstacle on the road to progression, might in reality be the current financial situation, since the professional clubs in Denmark is struggling financially or at least playing with extremely low budgets.

This means that the young players will not get to play with equally good imports as they have in previous years. An advantage is however that more young players will get the chance to play at the Elite level. This again raises a bunch of questions… But that will have to be continued in next part, where I will go more in depth into the Danish league. On the following page an easy way you can check the results of recent matches and statistics for Denmark 2.

If a danish top team like Herning have played in the SEL I think they only have taken 10 to 15 point in 55 rounds But we will never now so long as the teams dont play in the same league. But one thing is clear danish hockey are closer for every year and maybe the danish league i 5 years can pass Allsvenskan and in 10 years become at the same level as the SM-league in Finland. I have another question. What is the pay like in the top league in Denmark?

I thought I read somewhere where players didn't get paid and that they had to work to make money. Last edited by mlharris; at What is the pay like in the top leeague in Norway? All of the hotel bookings and transfers worked out perfectly.

The rental car and cell phone were excellent as well. We're so glad we decided to go with the 4x4. Every part of the trip that was planned by Nordic Visitor was flawless. Nordic Visitor took care of ALL of the details for us. Alexandra did all the rest.

Nordic Visitor provides a car, maps, cell phone, and detailed itinerary for the drive-around vacations. We had detailed maps to get where we needed to go, AND details about other places in case we wished to digress from our route to see more of this amazing country. We tacked on a few days at the end in Reykjavik, and had the chance to soak in the Blue Lagoon for a day, as well as see "How To Become Icelandic In 60 Minutes" at The HARPA (gorgeous national performing space on the harbor in Reykjavik).

All in all, a marvelous 12 days. Thanks, Nordic Visitor, and Alexandra. Norway Grand Tour was excellent. The hotels booked were wonderful and the service was great. The whole experience with Nordic exceeded expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Nordic visitor made everything stress-free. It was great to be able to pick up our rental car and check into accommodations, simply by handing them our reservation paper. All accommodations were very clean, comfortable, great breakfasts and most had a beautiful Norway view.

My friend and I just finished the Ring Road bus tour and were completely delighted with all aspects of the trip. We loved Iceland and feel like Nordic Visitor showed us the very best of the country in a way that maximized relaxation and minimized stress.

I definitely would choose this company for my next Scandinavian adventure.
